 The "OPS SAVER" aka Oil Pressure Switch Saver is Highly Recommended for RELIABILITY of the GM 6.5 (6.5l, 6.5L, 6.5TD, TD) Diesel Engines, and is useful reducing "no run" or driveability conditions in many GM fuel injected applications due to oil pressure switch failure.
 When installing the PDC/PMD Remote Package this product is required to be installed along with it to get the Full TEN-Year PDC Warranty!

  Although this product was initially designed for the GM 6.5 Diesel Engine equipped vehicles, it will work and is beneficial on many other GM fuel injected vehicle applications!

 The "OPS SAVER" is our Trade Name for this product that Jim invented over a decade ago, to reduce the load on the contacts of the GM Oil Pressure Switch (OPS).

Above picture is a cutaway of a OEM GM oil pressure switch, as you can see the contacts are small and weak.

 The OPS is used to meet Federally Mandated Safety of cutting off fuel in case of an accident, so if oil pressure drops like when the engine dies, the fuel pump should not be powered to avoid it possibly fueling a fire! So NEVER bypass the OPS.

 The OPS SAVER safely removes most load off the contacts of the OPS yet is still operates properly and retains the safety feature to cut fuel if low oil pressure.

 Additionally Jim noted that when the OPSs would fail on his GM 6.5 Turbo Diesel truck that it would often still run because despite that the lift pump would not run but the injection pump would suck fuel through it, that condition creates more strain on the injection pump due to the added work it to do that, and work equals HEAT, and heat is the enemy of the PMD/FSD, the most common part to fail on the GM 6.5 Diesel Engines, (see Our PDC/PMD Remote Package for the fix for that common problem.), so it is Highly Recommended for 6.5 RELIABILITY and we require the OPS SAVER for warranty of our PDC/PMD Remote Package.
