ABOUT THE
PDC/PMD REMOTE PACKAGE; PRODUCT'S DESIGN PROCESS:
- The picture below shows how OTHER
'coolers' like the FSD
coolers and other Heat Syncs or Sinks have NO Air gap (space) between
cooler and mounting, such is a not a good design because heat
rising up from the hot engine builds up and heats up the heat sink and
therefore it cannot properly
cool the PMD/FSD.
If you have heard of high IATs
(intake air
temperatures) mentioned, then you'll realize that mounting the parts on the hot
intake is not the best choice either, especially if there is no air-gap
(space) between the manifold and the parts.

Above image illustrates how heat builds up with so-called competing
cooler designs as they have NO 'air-gap', also so much area connected
to a hot intake manifold means heat from the engine is reaching the
'cooler'.
- Also a heat sink draws heat, and when
mounted to the engine it is drawing egine heat as well as some PMD heat
but it's ability to draw heat reaches it saturtion point or maximum very
quickly. ANY cooler mounted on the intake in
metal to metal contact as all of those we have seen are, will result in
the PMD getting too hot! Be
wary of any sites or persons trying to claim otherwise,
beside this all being common sense, we have also of course done extensive
testing and that confirmed that.

- NOTE: Our
PDC/PMD Remote Package is a
Remote Mount version that does NOT mount on the HOT engine but instead
mounts on the firewall (recommended location) see further below.

Above image illustrates the 'air-gap'
feature from one of our early designs that keeps the PMD even cooler the air can pass more freely, also
there is drastically less area of the cooler connected to a hot intake
manifold. However, we decided based on our extensive
testing that the best proper way to keep the PMD cool was to get it off
and away from the hot engine.
